Is trading platform only software to trade Forex?

because i think it's something just about forex

1. YES and NO... You can trade forex through online brokerage firms. Look at CITIBANK.

2. Yes, a trading platform is simply software on a computer, and could be specific to forex only. But a lot of platforms can trade almost anything, like NinjaTrader and ThinkOrSwim (TOS) and Realtick and TradeStation.

The trading platform is a rather loose term that describes a program or software on your PC that handles the data feeds and charting and often news and a simulator or demo mode as well.

Should you wish to trade Forex online(over the Internet), then yes, the trading platform is the only trading link between you and your broker.
The trading platform sends your requests(to open/close/modify a trade) to your broker for execution.
If you are also referring to offline Forex trading, you will deal directly with an exchange institution such as a bank.
