Do you need experience trading forex to use options?

I want to start trading forex soon and I would also like to buy protective puts for some trades. In stock trading brokers need you to have previous experience to use options. Is the same true for forex brokers?

1. Brokers don't need you to have any experience in using options, it is a completely different instrument. If a broker told you that and used this as a reason not to work with you it was just to brush you off.

Anyone can open an account with forex broker, obviously subject to their terms and condition.

2. no, you do not need to have the experience in option trading to enter the forex market. Better concentrate on forex directly. And remember the golden rule: never invest more than you can afford to lose. Forex is NOT easy money
