PLEASE ADVISE OF THE MOST SUITABLE FOREX TRADING PLATFORM FOR A BEGINNER?
Public Comments
1. You can download NinjaTrader for free here:
http://www.ampfutures.com/index.php
The data feed and historical data are also free. You can use it for several months before funding an account and trade the simulator and setup your trade plan before you go live.
I get better fills on forex futures rather than the spot market, but I trade both on two different machines.
Ask for Kevin O'Grady, he used to be a floor trader, very knowledgable.
2. beginners shouldn't be fooling around with currency trading - very risky and you rarely make money
3. Metatrader 4 platform is a fairly easy program and is used by most brokerages. As a new trader you can sign up for a demo account and familiarize yourself with the basics of order entry and exit without risking live money in your account.
Proceed slowly using good money management principles and trading rules that you can consistently follow and you will be well on your way.
Word of caution, demo trading may give you a false sense of security as emotions are not in play such as fear and greed so expect different results when you go "live" in your trading account.
There are other trading platforms such as Trade Station and Ninja Trader which will require a paid subscription so Metatrader will be the low-no cost option that I would suggest.
Hope this helps
4. Metatrader 4 is the most popular forex trading platform though some brokers like Oanda also provide Java-based platforms.
5. Forex Money Train is ideal for starters and has a 3 day trial for just $4.95.
Unlike other EAs that require you to have a ton of knowledge and buy half a dozen tutorial products, and then expect you to invest thousands of dollars in forex trading... This software is just that simple that you don't need a bunch of junk, just the Metatrader 4 Platform and you can continue using the service as long as you like, there is a membership subscription and they don't just pile stuff on you. This is the more conventional way to trade forex. This platform combines versatile automated forex trading strategies with an easy to use platform.

7. There is no good FX broker. There are some brokers that are not as bad as others with decent platforms;
GFT
InterbankFX
FXCM
Of those three... I like GFT the best. Good customer service & good platform (compared to others).
Some quick thoughts;
Read at least 6 trading books before trading. You need top know Technical Analysis and Trader Money Management fairly well... before getting started. Also read some books that interview successful traders. Always continue your trading education. You'll find it never stops.
Results through "paper trading" mean nothing.
If you look for "home runs"... you'll be broke very quickly.
If you don't calculate your possible loss & stop on a trade..... you're not trading... you're gambling.
